Why Adding Calm into Your Life is Important - Post 1

My word of the week is calm

Most of us live our lives in the complete opposite. We make decisions or don't make decisions out of fear

We are in a constant, reactive, low level state of fight or flight without even realising it.

This is survival based living. But we aren't being chased by a tiger every day, so why do we choose to live this way?

We are living as victims within our own environment and we are constantly worrying about absolutely everything. Why?

Think about how much time you waste worrying, overthinking and trying to control the uncontrollable.

I've been doing a lot of research on reducing my cortisol levels recently as I'm not very good at dealing with stress. I want to be calmer and less reactive to situations and this is what I've found

- calmness isn't weakness or being passive, it's strength and being in control of your emotions whatever gets thrown at you

- calmness is having an organised inner world which can completely transform a chaotic and scattered outer world

- calmness is where the noise dissolves, that emergency feeling lessens and urgency disappears

- Instead of noise, confusion and being reactive to situations, you broadcast to the world a sense of clarity, strength and trust

- calmness is living in the present moment and not worrying about what you can't control

- calmness is about releasing fear and no longer forcing and pushing the right outcomes to suit your own needs

- calmness is when your survival system quietens and your intuition and self belief becomes louder

Calmness helps your body to relax, your mind to shush and only then you can make intuitive, creative and strong grounded decisions
